Pepa Molina, profesora de baile

Description

Description

Pepa Molina is a female dancer (bailaora) who has been teaching flamenco dance for over 25 years. She attends permanent, transversal training, and so she has been taught by the greatest flamenco figures, namely La Mariquilla or Manolete, and other relevant professionals from other artistic disciplines like Ballet dancer Dagmara Brown.

The “Pepa Molina” company was founded in 2004, and although it still has a short history, it follows an innovative line within a traditional framework, with a clear commitment to promoting their performers’ personal style, this way developing a dynamic, present-day flamenco relying on a top cast with extensive artistic experience. Among their creations are:

“De ese arte” (2004)

“Ni aquí ni allí”(2009)

“Flamencamente”(2011)

“¡Ay Pepa!, Qué historia la tuya”, a tribute on the occasion of the Bicentenary of the Spanish Constitution (1812- 2012).

“Pepa Live” (2014,) with which they took part in renowned festivals and performed in both national and international theatres.

“Bushbailando” (2016)

Throughout her long career as a flamenco dance teacher, she has worked for the most prestigious schools of different countries across the world, such as Spain, England, Germany, France, Peru, Brazil, Mexico, the Arab Emirates, Israel, Japan or Australia, to name just a few.

Pepa Molina had always felt called to become a dance teacher. And such calling makes her constantly update her method and teaching methodology, prepare her classes in detail before and during the courses, develop new materials and keep on attending training sessions herself, with the firm determination of providing her teaching with higher quality every time, in such a way that her students can make the most out of it. Her personality, disciplined and patient, has a direct effect on the progress made by her students.

We are talking about a teacher that can be classified into a more classical school of flamenco dancing, as each one of her lessons are based on the traditional elements of this discipline. Notwithstanding that, they are oriented towards an evolution to the most contemporary flamenco. She places particular emphasis on everything related to technique, yet by linking it to choreography, and using theory to reinforce the students’ knowledge about how to act or contextualise each dance piece according to its style.

Due to her vast experience, she has had time to develop lessons for virtually every existing style, and she can teach many different levels; that being said, she specialises in the styles listed below, and therefore students can make the most out of: soleá, taranto, seguiriya, alegrías ot tangos.

These are the styles she has truly mastered, and it must also be said that no one can teach dancing with “bata de cola” (the typical flamenco tailed gown dress) like she does.

Her engagement, commitment and dedication to students and their progress, the way she loves flamenco and her will to pass it on to the new generations turn Pepa Molina into a teacher who greatly contributes to the professionalisation of this sector, as well as to the promotion of flamenco art, which constitutes altogether the best guarantee for learners.
